A striking example of early Japanese commercial art, this vintage Asahi Beer advertisement captures the optimism, elegance and modern consumer culture of the Taishō period. A stylish young woman stands behind a bar, smiling as she presents a bottle of Asahi Lager Beer beside a freshly poured glass crowned with foam.

The composition combines softly modelled portraiture with bold Japanese typography and vivid colour. Her emerald-green dress, orange belt and pale blue polka-dot scarf create a lively focal point against the subdued shelves of bottles behind her. The bottle label identifies the product as “Asahi Lager Beer, specially brewed for export,” reflecting the increasingly international ambitions of Japanese industry during the early twentieth century.

The poster was issued for Dai Nippon Beer Company and is generally dated to around the 1920s, with the design tentatively attributed to Teiji Tsutsumi. Its combination of fashion illustration, beverage advertising and Japanese graphic design makes it particularly suitable for kitchens, home bars, cafés, restaurants and interiors inspired by Art Deco or vintage Asian design.

This reproduction has been carefully restored to improve clarity, tonal balance and print presentation while retaining the softly aged appearance and character of the original artwork. Product images include both the restored print and a framed interior mock-up to illustrate how the work may appear when displayed.
