Created by Alphonse Mucha in 1897, Bières de la Meuse is a richly decorative example of French Art Nouveau advertising. The poster was designed to promote the beers of the Meuse region and transforms a commercial subject into an elaborate celebration of beauty, abundance and modern graphic design.

At the centre of the composition, an elegant woman holds a foaming glass of beer while wearing an extraordinary headdress of barley, hops and vivid red poppies. Her flowing hair, theatrical drapery and graceful pose are surrounded by the sinuous lines, botanical ornament and integrated lettering for which Mucha became renowned.

The lower section incorporates industrial and regional imagery, including views of the brewery complex and a classical female figure, linking the romanticised central portrait with the production and identity of the beer itself. Deep burgundy, burnt orange, muted green and dark blue give the design a warm, sophisticated palette, while the oversized curved title creates a strong architectural frame.

Printed in Paris by F. Champenois, the original poster belongs to the collection of the Bibliothèque nationale de France. This restored reproduction retains the period texture and softly aged character of the historic work while improving clarity, tonal balance and suitability for contemporary printing.

A particularly striking choice for a home bar, dining room, kitchen, restaurant or Art Nouveau-inspired interior, this print combines celebrated poster art with the convivial tradition of European brewing. The product gallery includes both the restored artwork and a styled interior mock-up showing how the print may appear when framed and displayed.
