John Albert Kramer was an American tennis player who played during the 1940s and 1950s. He adopted a serve-voley style of play.

 

Jack won the U.S. Championships in 1946, 1947 and Wimbledon in 1947. He also helped the U.S. Davis Cup tennis team win the Davis Cup in 1946 and 1947.

 

Jack was regarded by his peers as the No. 1 amateur men's tennis player in 1946 and 1947.

 

He was a pioneer promoter who helped push tennis from an amateur sport to a professional sport. Jack encouraged  a number of top players to join his professional tour, which he began in 1947, with players traveling throughout the USA to play tennis for prize money.

 

The "Wilson Jack Kramer Autograph" tennis racquet launched in 1948 and became the best-selling tennis racquet 

 

This autobiography is personally signed by Jack Kramer. In addition, making this book a one-off unique edition, it was presented to Jim Moore, a fellow tennis professional who had competed alongside many greats of Australian tennis – including Rod Laver, Roy Emerson and Ken Rosewall. Jim Moore was also a well regarded tennis official, umpiring at the international level, such as at the Queen’s Club tournament.
