Welcome to Tasmania is a 1988 Tasmanian hardcover publication by Buck Thor Emberg and Joan Dehle Emberg, published and distributed by R.T.P. Marketing (Tas.) Pty Ltd of Launceston.
 
Although the outer cover suggests a general Tasmanian souvenir or travel book, the interior shows that the book includes an illustrated children’s story titled “The Potoroo Who Slept at Night”, described as Book 1.
 
Rather than being a conventional travel guide, this appears to be a Tasmanian souvenir-style children’s picture book, using local wildlife and Tasmanian themes. The story centres on Joey the potoroo, a young Tasmanian animal who does not behave as expected — he wants to sleep at night rather than follow normal nocturnal habits.
