Aldous Leonard Huxley (26 July 1894 – 22 November 1963) was an English writer and philosopher. He was nominated for the Nobel Prize in Literature nine times and was elected Companion of Literature by the Royal Society of Literature in 1962. His most famous novel was “Brave New World”, which depicted a future in which universal happiness is only achieved by dehumanizing humanity.

 

The author, Sybille Bedford, a famous writer in her own right was a close friend of Aldous Huxley and his extended family. She is best placed to write an extensive and authorised biography on the novelist, Aldous Huxley.

 

In Volume 1 (1894-1939), the author explores the first half of Aldous Huxley's life.
