Created by Leonetto Cappiello in 1912, Bitter Campari Milano is a lively example of early twentieth-century Italian beverage advertising. With its bold lettering, theatrical character and limited colour palette, the poster reflects Cappiello’s ability to make a brand instantly memorable through a single energetic image.

At the centre, a red-haired figure dressed in black appears to leap or dance while balancing a brilliantly coloured glass of Campari. The exaggerated pose, sweeping white scarf and expressive face give the composition a playful sense of movement, while the vivid yellow drink forms a bright focal point against the warm ochre background.

Large block lettering announces “Bitter Campari” across the upper section, with “Milano” printed in striking red below. Cappiello strips the design back to its essential elements—character, product and brand name—creating the strong visual impact for which his commercial posters became famous.

The original poster is recorded as a 1912 colour lithograph by Leonetto Cappiello, printed by Vercasson & Cie in Paris. It measures approximately 140 × 102 cm.

This reproduction has been carefully restored to improve colour balance, clarity and print presentation while retaining the gently aged appearance of the historic poster. The product gallery includes the restored artwork together with a watermarked preview image.

Bold, humorous and distinctly Italian, Bitter Campari Milano is particularly well suited to a home bar, cocktail room, kitchen, restaurant, café or collection of vintage aperitif advertising.
