Lucky Peach was the creation of writers Chris Ying and Peter Meehan alongside celebrity chef, David Chang.

The magazine (journal) of food and writing was produced quarterly. It commenced in July 2011.

Its content incorporated a combination of food journalism, artistic layout and broad recipe choices.

It had a cutting-edge and catchy visual style.

24 issues of the magazine were released. The magazine ceased printing in May 2017.

Lucky Peach Issue No. 17 investigates meals related to Breakfast. Contributions include profiles of coffee pioneer George Howell, Cosme chef Daniela Soto-Innes, and Stephen Tanner of The Commodore and El Cortez; Adam Leith Gollner on Hong Kong breakfasts; Harold McGee on sugar in your waffles; a comic by Lisa Hanawalt; and a recipe package on building a better bagel.
