Test Outcast | Roy Marshall

Roy Edwin Marshall (25 April 1930 – 27 October 1992) was a West Indian cricketer.

 

He initially played for Barbados at club level, and later represented the West Indies as a test player in four test matches in 1951/1952. Political issues in West Indies cricket at the time hampered his chances of playing more test matches, hence the tile of his book: “A Test Outcast”.

 

Regarded as a fine and feared opening batsman, capable of winning a match single handed.

 

After moving to England, he played county cricket for Hampshire from 1953 to 1972.

 

Over his career he scored in excess of 35,000 runs, more than 60 centuries, with a high score of 238 runs.
