Sir Garfield St Aubrun Sobers (28 July 1936 - ) is a retired cricketer who played first class cricket for Barbados and Test cricket for the West Indies between 1954 and 1974. He also played a stint in County cricket in the Lancashire League, England.

Regarded by many as the greatest all-round player.

Sobers’ awards include:

• Wisden Cricketer of the Year (1964)
• Wisden Cricketer of the Century (2000)
• ICC Cricket Hall of Fame (2009)

As a batsmen he had over 28,000 first class runs, with 80 centuries and high score of 365 not out (which he scored in 1958 to secure the world record for the highest test score at that time).

As a bowler he had over 1,000 first class wickets at an average of 27.74.
