Summer Thunder is a large hardcover book written to commemorate the 40th anniversary of the United States Air Force Air Demonstration Squadron - called the "Thuderbirds". 

 

This unique book is personally inscribed and signed on the front endpaper by the author, Brian Shul on 18 October 1997 at the Wings of Gillespie Field event, El Cajon, California, U.S.A. 

 

Brian Shul is a retired Vietnam War attack pilot and USAF Major who flew 212 combat missions. He was shot down near the end of the war and badly burned. Determined to fly, he recovered and later flew the SR-71 Blackbird.

 

The author is an award-winning writer, photographer and experienced fighter pilot.

 

Beautiful large book with numerous colour photographs throughout.
