This book is an autobiography about Nancy Bird Walton (16 October 1915 to 13 January 2009) AO, OBE.
A pioneering Australian aviator - the book details her beginnings in 1933, through to gaining her commercial pilot's licence, flying experiences, air ambulance commitments, helping to set up the Royal Flying Doctor Service, training pilots during WWII, flying races; and encounters with leading aviators of the time, such as, Charles Kingsford Smith.
Inducted to the Women in Aviation International Pioneer Hall of Fame in 2023.
A great read for anyone interested in aviation history, especially in Australia. This book is a bonus collector's item with Nancy's personal signature inscribed to the half-title page.
