Pablo Picasso was a Spanish painter, sculptor and printmaker.

 

Regarded as one of the most influential artists of the 20th century.

 

He is known for co-founding the "Cubist" art movement.

Originally, Pablo Picasso left his granddaughter (Marina Picasso) a selection of his best loved works. Marina Picasso authorized a limited edition of lithographs to be created from the art she had inherited. These became known as the "Picasso Estate Collection". They were hand-printed using a traditional method of multi-plate colouring, under the strict supervision of one of Picasso's closest creative partners, Marcel Salinas. The print run was limited to 500 editions, eg. 1/500, 2/500, etc

 

Pablo Picasso dies in 1973. The Picasso Estate Collection was published between 1979 and 1982  as a posthumous edition.

 

Lithographs from the Picasso Estate Collection are typically signed in pencil by Marina Picasso on the lower right, edition numbered on the lower left; and contain an embossed/blind stamp with the word "Picasso".

 

Legitimate Picasso Estate Collection lithographs typically sell in the thousands ($...000.00) of dollars

A secondary market of "After" prints referred to as "Collection Domaine Picasso" have also been printed/published.  These are in the form of giclee's/lithographs.

 

The works are typcially identified with "Collection Domaine Picasso" on the lower right of the artwork and numbered in an edition of 500.

They are a more affordable and more accessible alternative typcially sold through art galleries and auction houses.
