Marius Girard was a French painter, watercolourist, and lithographer celebrated for his evocative depictions of Parisian landmarks, boulevards, and neighbourhoods. His works are often infused with atmosphere and light, capturing both the grandeur of historic Paris and the intimacy of its street life.

Girard studied at the École des Beaux-Arts, Paris, where he refined his draughtsmanship and colour skills. He became part of the mid-20th century movement of artists producing lithographs and watercolours of Paris for both local collectors and international visitors.
