Tony Curtis - born Bernard Schwartz (3 June 1925 – 29 September 2010)
Tony Curtis was an American actor.
His career highs being during the 1950s and early 1960s.
Tony Curtis was married a number of times, first and most famously to Janet Leigh, the actress who played the character Marion Crane in Alfred Hitchcock’s 1960s movie, “Pyscho”.
He had six children, including actress Jamie Lee Curtis.
Among his many movies, Curtis starred with then-wife Janet Leigh in Houdini (1953), in which Curtis played the title role.
His other notable films included:
- Trapeze (1956) - co-starring with Burt Lancaster;
- The Vikings (1958) alongside Kirk Douglas and Janet Leigh;
- The Defiant Ones (1958) alongside Sidney Poitier;
- Some Like It Hot (1959) co-starring with Jack Lemmon and Marilyn Monroe.
He was nominated in 1959 for the Academy Award for Best Actor in a Leading Role.
Tony acted in numerous other films and televisions series.
He also had a strong interest in art and painting.
