Our Fine-Art Prints
Paper, printing, sizes and framing at The Fine Art Hut
At The Fine Art Hut, each art print is prepared with careful attention to colour, detail, composition and the character of the original artwork.
Our collection includes restored vintage artworks, art reproductions, and original contemporary and conceptual works. Where appropriate, historical works are researched, carefully prepared from high-resolution source imagery and sensitively digitally restored before being made available for sale.
Our fine-art reproductions are printed to order using professional pigment printing on premium archival fine-art paper selected to complement the artwork. Wherever practicable, we preserve the original proportions and composition of the work rather than stretching or unnecessarily cropping the image.
The result is a carefully prepared fine-art print designed for attractive, lasting display in the home, office or creative space.

Carefully Prepared & Digitally Restored
Historical artworks may survive through museum photography, archival scans or individual impressions showing the natural effects of age, handling or previous reproduction.
Where appropriate, The Fine Art Hut carefully prepares and digitally restores source imagery before printing. This may include restrained correction of scanning artefacts, discolouration, stains or physical damage visible in the source image.
Our Restoration Philosophy
Our objective is to improve the presentation of the reproduction while retaining the character, composition, colour relationships and historical appearance of the original artwork.
Restoration is not intended to redesign, modernise or materially alter the original work.
Artwork Research & Source Information
The Fine Art Hut aims to provide meaningful information about the artworks we reproduce. Where reasonably available, our product descriptions identify details such as:
-
artist or maker;
-
artwork title;
-
series, where known;
-
original date or approximate period;
-
original medium;
-
museum, gallery or institutional collection where available; and
-
the source of public-domain or permitted open-access imagery where applicable.
This research helps provide context for the work and allows customers to better understand the original artwork represented by the modern FAH reproduction.

Our Fine-Art Paper
The Fine Art Hut's historical reproductions are generally printed on Canson Infinity Edition Etching Rag II 310gsm, a heavyweight 100% cotton fine-art paper with a subtle traditional grain and matte surface.
We selected this paper because its appearance and tactile quality are particularly well suited to reproductions of works originally created on paper, including Japanese woodblock prints, engravings, botanical illustrations, architectural prints and other historical artworks.
For selected works, including A1 size, FAH may use an equivalent archival fine-art paper where its surface characteristics are better suited to the particular artwork.

Archival Pigment Printing
The Fine Art Hut standard fine-art reproductions are produced using a professional pigment-ink printing system on premium archival cotton fine-art paper. Pigment inks are designed for high-quality photographic and fine-art reproduction and offer excellent colour depth, tonal detail and long-term display stability when used with suitable archival media.
Our standard A4, A3 and A2 fine-art prints are produced on Canson Infinity Edition Etching Rag II 310gsm, a 100% cotton, acid-free fine-art paper selected for its substantial feel, refined surface texture and suitability for detailed art reproduction.
Each print is produced through a colour-managed workflow using paper-specific colour profiling to help achieve consistent colour, tonal balance and detail from the prepared digital master to the finished print.
The Fine Art Hut printing process is intended to preserve the character of the original artwork rather than artificially intensify or modernise it. Particular attention is given to:
-
accurate colour and tonal relationships;
-
fine detail and line work;
-
shadow and highlight detail;
-
subtle variations in historical and aged artworks;
-
natural paper and image character; and
-
consistent reproduction across repeat prints.
Each finished print is visually inspected before packaging to identify issues such as banding, colour cast, surface marks, incorrect borders or other printing defects.
For historical and public-domain artworks, the result is a modern fine-art reproduction produced using contemporary archival-quality materials. Unless expressly stated otherwise, it is not an original print, antique impression, artist-signed work, artist's proof or artist-authorised limited edition.
For A1 Special Order prints, The Fine Art Hut may use an approved specialist fine-art printing partner. Any outsourced A1 production is intended to meet an equivalent professional pigment-printing and archival fine-art paper standard.

Available Fine-Art Print Sizes

Standard The Fine Art Hut fine-art reproductions in A4, A3 and A2 are produced using professional pigment inks on premium archival cotton fine-art paper. A1 prints are available on selected works as a special-order size and may be produced by an approved specialist fine-art printer to an equivalent archival standard before being inspected and packed by The Fine Art Hut.
Our art prints are generally available in a selection of standard A-series paper sizes:
A4
210 × 297 mm
A compact size suited to smaller walls, shelving, desks, reading corners and gallery-wall arrangements.
A4 prints can also make thoughtful and affordable gifts.
A3
297 × 420 mm
A versatile medium-sized print that works well in bedrooms, hallways, home offices and smaller living spaces.
A3 is a practical choice where the artwork should be clearly visible without dominating the room.
A2
420 × 594 mm
Our recommended display size for many artworks.
A2 provides greater visual presence and allows fine details, linework and colour variations to be appreciated more clearly. It is well suited to living rooms, dining rooms, offices and feature walls.
A1
594 × 841 mm
A large statement size suitable for artworks with strong detail, colour or visual impact.
A1 availability may depend on the dimensions, proportions and resolution of the original image.
Available by special order.
Understanding Image Size
and Paper Size

The listed dimensions refer to the overall paper size rather than the exact dimensions of the printed image.
Historical artworks, posters, Japanese woodblock prints, illustrations and original compositions are not always created in standard A-series proportions.
To avoid stretching, distorting or unnecessarily cropping an artwork, the image may be printed within the selected paper size with a white border around one or more edges.
This means that the width of the white border may vary between artworks. This is a deliberate part of the presentation and allows The Fine Art Hut to preserve the original proportions and composition of the work wherever practicable. This approach preserves the intended composition and makes it easier to place the print in a standard-sized frame
Many The Fine Art Hut reproductions include a clean white border around the artwork. Border dimensions vary according to the proportions and composition of the original work. The border provides visual separation around the artwork and allows greater flexibility when mounting, matting or framing.
Where minor cropping is necessary, it will be undertaken carefully so that the principal elements of the artwork are preserved.
Professional Printing

The Fine Art Hut art prints are professionally printed from carefully prepared digital files. Before an artwork is offered for sale, we review matters such as:
-
image resolution;
-
colour balance;
-
tonal range;
-
marks, fading and age-related damage;
-
cropping and image proportions;
-
suitability for the available print sizes; and
-
the overall appearance of the finished reproduction.
Some vintage artworks have been digitally restored to reduce stains, tears, fold lines, fading or other distracting signs of age.
Our restoration approach aims to improve presentation while retaining the character of the original work. Natural texture, printed irregularities, historic lettering, paper grain and other authentic details may remain visible.
These features form part of the artwork’s history and should not necessarily be regarded as defects.
Framing Options

Unless a framed option is specifically identified and selected on the product page, The Fine Art Hut prints are supplied unframed.
Standard A-series print sizes make it easier to source compatible ready-made frames from framing stores and homeware retailers.
For a more tailored presentation, a professional framer can recommend:
-
frame colour and material;
-
matboard or mounting options;
-
glazing;
-
conservation materials; and
-
spacing between the print and the glazing.
Frames Shown in Product Images
Room scenes, interiors and framed product images are presentation mock-ups designed to help customers visualise how an artwork may look when displayed.
Unless otherwise stated:
-
frames shown in mock-up images are not included;
-
decorative objects and furniture are not included;
-
the artwork may not be shown at exact scale; and
-
the colour and appearance of the frame may differ from commercially available frames.
Always refer to the measurements shown on the product page when selecting a print size.
Framing and Display Recommendations
For the best presentation and long-term care of your print, we recommend:
-
using an acid-free matboard where appropriate;
-
avoiding direct contact between the printed surface and ordinary glass;
-
selecting UV-filtering glazing for brightly lit rooms;
-
avoiding prolonged exposure to direct sunlight;
-
keeping the print away from excessive humidity and moisture; and
-
using a frame that adequately supports the paper.
Professional framing is especially recommended for larger prints and valuable limited-edition works.

Print Colour and Screen Display
Every effort is made to present product images accurately.
However, colours may vary slightly between the image displayed on your screen and the finished print. This can occur because of differences in:
-
computer monitors;
-
mobile-device screens;
-
brightness settings;
-
colour calibration;
-
ambient lighting;
-
paper surface; and
-
the printing process.
A backlit screen can also make colours appear brighter than they will appear on matte paper.
These slight differences are normal and do not generally indicate a printing fault.
Printed to Order
The Fine Art Hut art prints are produced to order rather than held as finished stock. A4–A2 sizes are produced through our controlled workflows, while A1 special orders may be produced by an approved specialist printer and then returned to us for inspection and packing.
Printing to order helps us:
-
maintain quality control;
-
reduce unnecessary stock and waste;
-
offer a broader selection of artworks and sizes; and
-
prepare each order specifically for the customer.
Please allow approximately 5–7 business days for printing, inspection, packing and dispatch.
Packaging and Delivery

Prints are packaged according to their size and the most suitable method of protection.
Depending on the print size, orders may be:
-
supplied flat in protective packaging; or
-
carefully rolled and sent in a sturdy mailing tube.
Large-format prints are more likely to be rolled for safer and more economical delivery.
If a print arrives rolled, allow it to rest after unpacking. It can then be flattened carefully beneath a clean, smooth and evenly weighted surface, or placed directly with a professional framer.
Do not use an iron, steam, water or adhesive tape to flatten a print.
Understanding Modern Fine-Art Reproductions
Unless expressly described otherwise, The Fine Art Hut's historical fine-art reproduction is a modern reproduction of an earlier artwork.
It is not the original artwork, an antique impression, an artist-signed print, an artist's proof or an artist-authorised limited edition.
The Fine Art Hut separately offers original artworks, original prints and limited-edition works where those items are clearly identified as such in the relevant product description.
